- O câncer apresenta-se como importante problema na saúde única, exibindo elevada morbidade e mortalidade em todo o mundo. Sua incidência tem crescido nos animais de companhia, em particular em cães e gatos, associado à maior sobrevida em animais domiciliados. Em paralelo, o conhecimento da biologia do processo cresce exponencialmente nas últimas décadas, em particular atrelado ao avanço da biologia molecular. Neste contexto, a disciplina visa abordar elementos relevantes da biologia tumoral, salientando aspectos de oncologia comparada, dentro de um enfoque celular e molecular, destacando-se:
