Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Engenharia de Produção

The Postgraduate Program in Production Engineering (PPGEP) has an infrastructure that includes research laboratories, classrooms, auditoriums and spaces equipped for academic and scientific support, in addition to an integrated library with a large collection and access to national and international databases.

1. Laboratories

PPGEP has several laboratories focused on developing research in its areas of activity.

1.1. Production and Environment Laboratory (LaProma)

Dedicated to the activities of the research line 'Advances in Cleaner Production and Industrial Ecology' and related to the concentration area 'Sustainability in Production Systems'. More information.

1.2. Software Production Research Laboratory (LabPPSoft)

Designed for research on models and tools for information management, the laboratory has:

  • Five state-of-the-art machines (Intel i7, 8GB RAM, 1TB HD and 3D graphics card).
  • Five licenses of UCINET® 6.0 for Windows software for social network analysis.
  • Five licenses of Expert System® v.11 for multicriteria analysis and decision making (AHP).
  • Five licenses of Matlab v.2017 and Simulink, used in research with genetic algorithms and nonlinear prediction models.

1.3. Business Networks Laboratory (LAREPP)

Dedicated to research in the line 'Business Networks and Production Planning'.

1.4. Industry 4.0 Laboratory

Implemented in 2021 based on a doctoral thesis from PPGEP, in the context of the research project 'Digital Transformation and Innovation Management in the Production of Goods and Services'. The laboratory has:

  • Financing from Mitsubishi do Brasil and CIM Automação.
  • Equipment such as PLCs and collaborative robots.
  • Additional resources provided by UNIP.
  • Technologies described in the book Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0: Production and Society (Ed. Blucher, 2023).

1.5. FabLab UNIP

Implemented in 2021 and accredited in the global network of FabLabs (FabLabs.io), it offers resources for the construction of prototypes and devices, with an emphasis on additive manufacturing (3D printing). More information.

2. Infrastructure for Academic and Research Activities

2.1. Rooms and Support Spaces

  • Rooms for theoretical classes and seminars.
  • Teachers' and students' rooms.
  • Auditoriums and rooms for qualifications and defenses.
  • All environments are air-conditioned and equipped with Information and Communication Technology (ICT), allowing for pedagogical use and the holding of courses and events.

2.2. Graduate Studies Office

Provides administrative support to faculty and students in the development of academic and research activities.

2.3. Computer Lab for the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program

  • Available to all students and equipped with:
  • 20 microcomputers and 1 printer
  • Computer technician available.
  • Up-to-date software for statistical analysis, preparation of teaching materials, database management and text editing.
  • Software necessary for research, also allowing access to digital libraries via the worldwide web.

3. Indianópolis Library and Research Resources

3.1. Structure and Objective

  • Meeting the needs of UNIP's courses and activities.
  • Multi-campus organization interconnected by an integrated system.
  • Support for teaching and research, with 24-hour online access.

3.2. Collection and Resources

  • Total collection: 1,720,314 copies of books.
  • Electronic periodicals: 82,052 titles available.
  • National and international databases.
  • Digital resources for bibliographic survey and exchange.

3.3. Physical Space and Infrastructure

  • 19,591.42 m² distributed across 28 units.
  • Areas for individual and group study.
  • Computers with access to databases and collections.
  • Video rooms, lockers and computerized space for assistance.
  • Accessible facilities in accordance with ABNT/NBR 9050:2004.

3.4. Services and Technologies

  • Computerization: Own Bibliographic Control System.
  • Technical processing: Cataloging in accordance with CDU and AACR-2.
  • Collection consultation: Online catalog available 24 hours a day for the UNIP community.
  • Reference services: Bibliographic survey, guidance and standardization (ABNT).

3.5. Indianópolis Library (campus where PPGEP operates)

  • Collection: 53,447 titles (107,221 copies), focusing on Exact Sciences and Engineering.
  • Physical space: 1,311 m², including study rooms and reference terminals.
  • Resources: 39 computers, printers, optical readers, scanner, DVD.
  • Staff: 1 sector librarian, 1 junior librarian, 2 library assistants, 1 office assistant (PCD), 1 young apprentice.
  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 10 pm; Saturday, from 9 am to 1 pm.

3.6. Access to Digital Resources

CAFe (Federated Academic Community):

  • Allows single authentication for access to various services and databases.
  • Allows remote consultation of academic and scientific materials.

CAPES Periodicals Portal:

  • Access to a vast collection of national and international scientific periodicals.
  • Essential tool for academic and scientific research.

3.7. Regulations and Contingency

  • Single regulation for all UNIP libraries.
  • Contingency plan to ensure continuity of services.
