Academic Year 2027 (First Semester)

The Graduate Program in Production Engineering announces the opening of applications for the selection process for Master’s and Doctoral candidates, aiming to fill vacancies for the first semester of the 2027 academic year. The application period runs from October 1 to November 16, 2026.

Enrollment

Application will be made online only.

The candidate must submit the following documents:

1. Copy of the Identity Card (preferably) or another identification document with national validity, for Brazilian candidates;
2. Copy of the Birth or Marriage Certificate;
3. Copy of the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF);
4. Copy of the Academic Transcript(s) of the undergraduate course(s);
5. Copy, front and back, of the Diploma(s) of the undergraduate course(s), registered, from a course recognized by the MEC (Brazilian Ministry of Education);
6. Copy of the Academic Transcript of the Master's course, for candidates for the Doctorate;
7. Copy, front and back, of the Diploma of the Master's course, for candidates for the Doctorate;
8. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (preferably, Lattes);
9. Registration Fee (*);
10. Copy of the proof of payment of the registration fee;
11. Copy of the Master's dissertation, in PDF format, for candidates for the Doctorate.

(*) The registration fee must be paid per bank slip generated upon completing the online application form.
In case of any issues related to the generation or payment of the invoice, it is recommended to contact directly the Secretary of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Production Engineering.

The registration fee will not be refunded if the candidate is not classified for any stage of the selection process.

The candidate will also have to:

l) Please state, in a declaration attached to the documents, your chosen Area of Concentration Research Line to which you intend to link your research project proposal.
m) Draft a text describing the main contributions you can make to the chosen research line. The submitted text will serve as the candidate's research project proposal; it is intended to be preliminary and guiding in nature—not necessarily definitive—and may be refined or reformulated during the course of the program. It must contain the following items within a maximum of four (4) pages:

• name;
• description of the contribution;
• justification, that is, what is the importance of the contribution and adherence to Project Program;
• brief description of the activities required to implement the contribution to the Research Project Program;
• schedule of activities;
• references according to the ABNT.

n) The candidate for the Doctorate, in addition to preparing the text mentioned in the previous item, must present their proposal orally during the interview, preferably with the aid of a presentation. The presentation should have an estimated duration of 10 minutes.

Foreign candidates must submit as well:

o) Copy of the National Foreigners Registry (RNE)/National Migration Registry (RNM) or document proving legal residence in Brazil;
qp CELPE-BRAS Certificate of sufficiency in Portuguese language (http://portal.inep.gov.br/acoes-internacionais/celpe-bras). May be accepted the protocol of enrollment in the examination.

Candidates who attended an undergraduate or Master's degree in foreign institutions must submit the following documents:

r) Copy of the academic record and the duly revalidated diploma of the graduation course, according to the current legislation, except in the case of international agreements, provided that they are incorporated by Brazil;
s) Copy of academic transcripts and Master's degree, duly recognized by a Brazilian program recognized by CAPES, for Doctorate candidates.

Candidates must send digital copies of their documents in PDF format to the following email address: and wait for confirmation of receipt. Only legible copies in their original size will be accepted.

If approved in the selection process, all documents must be presented in their original form at the time of enrollment.

Applications with incomplete documentation or that do not strictly comply with the requirements of this notice will not be accepted.

The personal data provided by candidates will be used exclusively for the purposes of this selection process for admission to the Program, in accordance with Law No. 13,709/2018 (General Data Protection Law – LGPD).
By applying, candidates acknowledge that their names may be disclosed in official publications and on the Program's website, in accordance with the principle of transparency set forth in Article 6, item VI, of the LGPD.

Application

The selection of the Master and Doctorate comprises:

Step I - Eliminatory
The registration will only be validated by paying the bank slip and sending the complete documentation within the stipulated period.
Validation is done by confirmation email sent to the candidate.

Stage II – Selection Exam – Online Questionnaire
Only candidates with validated registration from Stage I will receive the questionnaire.

Step III - Interview
Interview for Master’s and Doctoral candidates who passed Stage II, including an oral presentation of the research project proposal by Doctoral candidates.
The interview will last approximately 20 minutes and will be conducted in person, according to the schedule previously announced by the Program.
Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria: a. Lattes Curriculum; b. professional experience; c. motivations; d. relevance of the academic and scientific contribution within the submitted research project proposal, considering the level sought by the candidate; e. alignment with one of the research lines.

Calendar

Stage I – Registration and Document Submission
From October 1 to November 16, 2026.
Registration will only be validated upon payment of the bank slip and submission of the complete documentation within the stipulated timeframe.

Stage II – Selection Exam – Written Test (questionnaire)
November 30, 2026 (Monday) – Deadline for candidates to submit the completed online questionnaire.
The link to the online questionnaire will be emailed to candidates with validated registrations.

Stage III – Interview for Candidates Who Passed Stages I and II
December 4, 2026 (Friday), starting at 2:00 PM – Announcement of candidates selected for the interview.
December 8 and 9, 2026 (Tuesday and Wednesday), from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM – Interviews and Research Project presentations.

Selection Results
December 14, 2026 (Monday), starting at 6:00 PM – Announcement of successful candidates.

Registration

Enrollment must be done in person at the Program Secretariat, on January 4 to 15, 2027, when the candidate must:

1. Present the following original documents:
   1. Identity Card or other identification document with national validity, for Brazilian candidates;
   2. Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF);
   3. Birth or Marriage Certificate;
   4. Undergraduate Course Diploma from a course recognized by the MEC, registered;
   5. Academic Transcript from an Undergraduate Course from a course recognized by the MEC;
   6. Master's Degree Diploma from a course recommended by CAPES, registered, for Doctorate candidates;
   7. Academic Transcript from a Master's Degree from a course recommended by CAPES, for Doctorate candidates;
   8. 1 recent 3x4 photograph;

Foreign candidates must also present:

9. National Registry of Foreigners (RNE)/National Migration Registry (RNM) or document proving legal residence in Brazil;
10. CELPE-BRAS certificate of proficiency in Portuguese. The exam registration protocol may be accepted.

Candidates who have completed undergraduate or master's degrees at foreign institutions must submit the following documents:

11. Academic transcript and diploma from the undergraduate course duly revalidated, according to current legislation, except in the case of international agreements, provided that they are incorporated by Brazil;
12. Academic transcript and diploma from the master's degree, duly recognized by a Brazilian program recognized by CAPES, for candidates for the Doctorate.

2. Sign the Educational Services Provision Agreement.
3. Choose the courses to be taken during the semester.
4. Collect the payment slip for enrollment.

The Graduate Program in Production Engineering offers PROSUP scholarships provided by CAPES. The call for applications for the first academic semester of 2027 will be available on the Program's webpage, under the section > Selection Processes > PROSUP/CAPES Scholarship Selection.

Note: Registration for PROSUP scholarships is independent of registration for the course's admission selection process. Therefore, participation in the course's selection process does not, in itself, imply registration for the scholarship.
