GO TO THE PROGRAM HOMEPAGE

The GP-EEP has produced scientific knowledge focused on social insertion in different ways. Students should attend a compulsory course oriented toward disseminating scientific thought to elementary school students. From this initiative, the students of the discipline develop projects together with 5th-grade students of the Professor Pedro Voss State School, located in Vila Mariana, So Paulo, SP, in the vicinity of UNIP's Indianpolis campus.  Two professors of the Program are responsible for developing the activities together with the teachers of the State School. Several projects have already been developed, and among which, the first Science Fair held at the school was planned and executed with the theme "Water", under the guidance of professors Leoni Bonamin and Ivana Suffredini.  The UNIP’s Master’s and Doctorate students conducted the 5th-grade students to develop a vocational and free proposal project focused on the theme “water” during the classes. As the ideas concluded, projects linked to the three major areas of knowledge as Mathematics, Humanities, and Biology were developed. They were presented to the rest of the school, to the younger colleagues from the 1st to the 4th grades. The 5th graders were the main actors, and it was quite a success!

In the first semester of 2021, under the responsibility of professors Eduardo F. Bondan and Thiago B. Kirsten, our graduate students prepared scientific and educational content related to COVID-19 education for the youth public of Pedro Voss school. Characters, banners, games, comic books, information leaflets, videos, and a maquette specially formatted in an attractive and easy-comprehensive language reachable for young people were created and produced. Also, the students had access to highly suitable material, which is a friendly way to be instructed about the origin of the virus, the forms of prevention, the importance of vaccination, and the risk of fake news.
